For this Lithia, Florida project, Cookin' Outdoors took a backyard and turned it into the ultimate entertainment destination—blending design, craftsmanship, and high-end appliances into one seamless living space.

From brainstorming to dimensions and drawing to the finishing details, here’s how Cookin' Outdoors brought this outdoor oasis to life:

The Foundation: Dimensions & Drawings

Every great Cookin' Outdoors outdoor living space begins with a solid plan. We worked closely with our client to design a space that checked every box: cooking, entertaining, relaxing, and gathering around the fire. Once the plans were finalized, Cookin' Outdoors begin this enormous backyard project by pouring a 15’ x 28’ concrete slab as the foundation for this backyard transformation.

The Outdoor Kitchen: 13 Feet of Culinary Power

A centerpiece of this Cookin' Outdoors project is the 13-foot outdoor kitchen, constructed from durable concrete cabinetry with a stone veneer façade and granite countertops. It’s designed for both style and performance, with every detail tailored to the homeowner’s lifestyle.

Features include:

• Blaze 32” LTE Gas Grill with rear burner and built-in lighting system, with double access doors below
• Fire Magic Aurora Power Burner with porcelain cast iron grid and single access drawer
• Blaze Double-Side Burner with 16” double access drawer
• Stainless steel undermount bar sink with faucet and storage door underneath
• Pot filler faucet above the power burner for convenience
• Ample storage drawers and access doors for organization
• Electrical outlets for appliances and convenience

This Cookin' Outdoors outdoor kitchen isn’t just for grilling—it’s a fully functional culinary station.

The Island Entertainment Center

Right next to the kitchen, Cookin' Outdoors built an 8-foot island entertainment center with a bar overhang—perfect for gathering with friends and family.

Highlights include:

• Blaze stainless fridge (4.5 cf) and 50 lb ice maker
• Roll-out trash/recycle bin for easy cleanup
• Two open shelves for storage and display
• Granite countertops to match the kitchen
• Electrical outlets for appliances and entertainment

This Cookin' Outdoors island creates the perfect spot for entertaining—whether it’s serving drinks, prepping food, or enjoying a casual meal.

Fireplace & Feature Wall

No outdoor living space is complete without a cozy gathering spot. For this project, Cookin' Outdoors built a concrete feature wall with a built-in 42” gas fireplace, stone veneer façade, and recessed storage.

The design also includes:

• A TV niche above the fireplace for game days and movie nights
• A granite hearth and seating area for comfort
• Gas and electrical connections run cleanly from existing locations

The result? A warm, inviting space that blends modern design with classic outdoor comfort.

The Roof: Comfort & Shade Year-Round

To make the space truly functional in Florida’s climate, Cookin' Outdoors installed a 15’ x 28’ insulated panel gable roof, supported by eight aluminum posts.

Roof details:

• Continuous concrete footing for stability
• Insulated Panel Roof with 8 Aluminum Posts and Tongue-and-groove finish for a refined look
• Shingles chosen to match the existing home
• A modified screen enclosure tied into the new roof with a super gutter for drainage

This roof provides shade, weather protection, and a seamless extension of the home’s architecture.

The Final Result

What started as a vision is now a complete outdoor living space: a gourmet kitchen, an entertainment island, a cozy fireplace wall, and a covered roof structure that ties it all together.

This backyard in Lithia, Florida is now ready for family dinners, neighborhood cookouts, and unforgettable gatherings—day or night, all year round.
